History of Christianity (Library)
- Classes start on February 3, 2013
- Join our new discussion group which will study the history of our Christian faith.
- We will use the book Christianity by Roland Bainton. Dr. Bainton was a professor of church history at Yale and the author of more than a dozen important books. Dr. Bainton wrote the book for readers that are not Christians so it explains Christian terms and concepts.
- Studying church history helps us answer questions about our faith, it delineates important aspects of our faith, and it gives evidence that the Holy Spirit is working through our church.
- The book has eleven chapters. The first three are:
- Backgrounds of Christianity - The history of Judaism including the influence of Greek culture.
- The Ministry of Christ - The birth through the resurrection.
- The Church in an Alien World - The growth of the church until its adoption by the Roman empire.
- If you have any questions, contact Gordon Clark (clark.17@osu.edu, 888-1746).
