Presbyterian Women is a national organization of the Presbyterian Church (USA). It has a history of being committed to study, to service, to prayer, and to advocacy. Did you know that the Worthington Presbyterian Women have many Circles meeting every month and general meetings six times a year? You are welcome to come to any meeting. They are listed in the Sunday Worship Bulletin and in the Tower Tidings every month or information may be obtained by calling the moderator, Joan Lynne at 614-888-6681 for more information. Gatherings are held at various times during the year. Childcare and transportation are available upon request.
Christian Mission is the main focus of the organization and recently more than $4,000 was donated to various mission projects, such as NNEMAP, Native American Indian Center, COMPASS, Westminster Thurber Life Care Fund and the Program Agency for Mission Second-Mile Giving.
Presbyterian Women also sell "Fair Trade & Equal Exchange" coffee at various times thoughout the year.
Presbyterian Women's Circles
Christian Life: Meets on the first Thursday of the month in the Woodrow Chapel at 12 noon. Bring your own sandwich. Dessert and coffee are furnished. This circle is involved in Bible study and contributes to NNEMAP. Ardath Shelton: 614-885-6128.
Daughters of Eve: Meets the first and third Thursday of the month at 9:30 a.m. This Circle studies the Bible, reads great books like The Red Tent and participates in service projects. Carla Wise: 740-881-5904.
Evening Circle of Grace: Meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. Typical activities include: Bible study, service projects and social events. Sue Funk: 614-436-4792.
Living Hope: Meets on the second Wednesday of the month at 11:30 a.m. This circle is involved with church community service. Alice Miskell: 614-436-6088.
Mary-Martha: Meets on the first Thursday of the month at mid-day. This Circle has two Bible studies each year, plays BINGO with residents of Westminster-Thurber, bakes Christmas cookies (80+dozen) for NNEMAP, makes a church visit to a non-Presbyterian church and makes quilts or blankets for Honduras.
