By Session directive, our Church schedules weddings for members of the Church. It is expected that at least one of the couple to be married is an active member of the congregation for at least six months before a wedding may be scheduled. (Consistent attendance and stewardship constitute active membership.) Special consideration may be given to a person whose parent is an active member of WPC.
Couples wishing to be married at Worthington Presbyterian Church may submit their request to Wedding Coordinator Diane Cowgill by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org for review by the pastoral staff.
One of the pastors of Worthington Presbyterian Church will officiate at the wedding in our Church. The pastors are assigned on an availability basis with an eye toward fair representation for each. Our organist or music director is in charge of all music. Couples should arrange to meet with the organist to plan their musical selections, whether or not the couple chooses to use the organist. Finally, a wedding coordinator is assigned to each wedding.
Premarital counseling sessions with the officiating pastor are required by the Church before the wedding.
