Y Family Center

YWCA Family Center

The Columbus YWCA Family Center (YFC) serves as a temporary residence for families without a place to call home. The YFC is the only shelter in Columbus where moms, dads and children can stay together while they seek long-term housing. Worthington Presbyterian helps this community supported program by purchasing, preparing and serving evening meals to the YFC guest families. Volunteers travel to the YFC as a group via the church bus, which departs at 4:30 p.m. on the respective dinner hosting night. If necessary, volunteers may also drive on their own. We usually arrive at the YFC at 5:15 p.m. and start the preparation of meals for 150-200 family members. The first dinner seating is at 6:00 p.m. Contact our YFC coordinator Bill Nordquist at 614-847-0430 for more information.
