Music Ministries for Children & Youth
Children (Preschool through Grade 6)
Our graded choir/Christian education program (CHERUB, CAROL, and CHAPEL CHOIRS OF CHOIR PLUS), handbell choir (THE CARILLON CHIMES) and summer Vacation Bible School (ADVENTURES IN GOD'S WORLD) provide many music-making opportunities for our families with young children. From preschool experiences in movement and singing (LITTLE TREBLES) to leading worship and singing anthems to presenting staged musicals, our children and their parents can play an active role in the music ministry of the church.
Youth (Grades 7-12)
Worthington Presbyterian provides music ministry opportunities for all youth who wish to sing, ring handbells, or play an instrument.
The ensembles enjoy fellowship and service opportunities, while providing musical leadership in worship services.
The FELLOWSHIP SINGERS is a mixed ensemble open to all young men and women who enjoy singing and wish to serve God through music. The choir provides leadership for special services. Rehearsals are held Thursday evenings from 6:00 to 6:45 p.m. with a make up rehearsal on Sundays from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. Contact: David Rives, Director of Music, at 614-885-5355.
The CELEBRATION RINGERS rings a variety of handbell music in worship throughout the year. The group uses advanced ringing techniques and presents small ensemble pieces. Rehearsals are Thursday evenings, 6:45 to 7:30 p.m. Contact: David Rives, Director of Music, at 614-885-5355.
SOLO AND SMALL ENSEMBLE opportunities for vocalists and instrumentalists are available throughout the year, with increased opportunities during the summer months.
