Jeff DeYoe, Pastor/Head of Staff Email Jeff DeYoe is a graduate of Kansas State University (B.A. 1978), Princeton Theological Seminary (M.Div. 1981), and McCormick Theological Seminary (D.Min. 1990). In addition to serving as a pastor in Kansas, Minnesota, Florida, and now Ohio, he is an accredited chaplain with the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education. Jeff is married to Ruth, also a graduate of Princeton Seminary (M.A., Christian Education) who was employed as a Director of Christian Education for 25 years but is now employed by Montana de Luz, a mission agency supporting an HIV/AIDS orphanage in Honduras, as director of its mission teams program. Jeff and Ruth have a daughter Tina, a graduate of Princeton Seminary, who is doing mission work in Guatemala until August 2011; and a son, Aaron, who is an artist and graphic designer in Minneapolis. For 30 years Jeff was an avid marathoner (with 36 of them under his belt), but in the past few years has been cycling pretty seriously. Jeff’s pastoral leadership style is open and flexible, and he understands ministry to be about seeking harmony in the working together of all the parts of the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12) for the sake of God’s people near and far.
Amy Hampton, Associate Pastor Email Amy Hampton joined the staff of Worthington Presbyterian Church in February 2006. She is a 2002 graduate of Hope College and a 2005 graduate of Western Theological Seminary. Amy serves as the Associate Pastor of Pastoral Care and her duties include: hospital and home visits, counseling, supporting the Prayer Chain, Board of Deacons, Ministry of Faith, Growth and Adult Education, ROMEO's, Prayer Shawl Ministry and many other various pastoral tasks. In her free time, Amy enjoys traveling, reading, running, wine tasting and meditation.
Roger Au:Parish Associate Email Roger Au is a graduate of Purdue University (B.S.C.E.), The Ohio State University MBA), and Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary (M.Div.). Prior to entering the ministry, Roger was a Professional Engineer in construction and construction management. Roger serves as Parish Associate for visitation at Worthington Presbyterian Church where, in addition to pastoral visitation, he assists at the 8 A.M. Sunday Communion Service, and occasionally at the 9 A.M. worship as well. He also serves as pastor at First Presbyterian Church of Reynoldsburg. Roger is married to Lorel, who is a member and Ruling Elder at Worthington Presbyterian Church. He enjoys college football, reading, and exercising.
Keenan Blanke, Director of Youth Programs Email Keenan started his calling as Director of Youth Programs in July of 2002. He is in charge of Sunday morning education, service work and youth group for grades 7-12. Keenan has been a life-long Worthington resident as well as a member of Worthington Presbyterian Church for more than 25 years. He graduated from Worthington High School, and has a degree in history from The Ohio State University. He is married to a wonderful wife, Jennifer, and they have three children, Alexandra, Samuel, and Simon.
Darlene Bitter, Preschool Director Email Darlene Bitter has been the Preschool Director since June 2007. She has been working in the field of early childhood education for more than 25 years. A native of Cleveland, she moved to California in 1980 and graduated with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education from California State University, Fullerton. She and her husband Dennis, have two boys. They moved to the Westerville area in 2005.
David Rives, Director of Music Email David has directed choirs of all ages in churches and synagogoues for more than thirty years. He has taught choral conducting and applied voice at the college level, and has performed as soloist with numerous American choral societies, opera companies, and orchestras. He teaches private voice lessons to students in all age groups.
Lynn Warner, Director of Christian Education Email Lynn Warner, Director of Christian Education, has her roots in Long Island, New York, but grew up mostly in nearby Newark, Ohio, where her father was a Presbyterian minister. Lynn is a graduate of Grove City College in Western Pennsyvania and has served as Christian Educator in both a professional and volunteer capacity before coming to Worthington Presbyterian. She and her husband, Randy, are the proud parents of two daughters, Jodi and Jessica.
Brett Greene, Organist/Associate Director of Music Email Brett Greene has been Organist/Associate Director of Music at Worthington Presbyterian Church since July 2008. He is a 2005 graduate of Houghton College (B.Mus) and a 2008 graduate of University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (M.Mus). In his free time, Brett learns calculus, physics, and other engineering-related subjects.
Mary Brake, Financial Assistant Email Mary is the Financial Assistant at Worthington Presbyterian Church. She has been working in this capacity since September 1995. Any questions regarding contributions, account receivable or payable, budget, payroll or Endowment would be directed to her. Mary works closely with the Finance Committee and all staff members with regard to daily financial matters. Mary grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio where she worked as a legal secretary before moving to Columbus in 1972 when she married Bill. She attended the University of Cincinnati and Franklin University. Bill and Mary have three children, Laura, Andy and Mike.
Rick Wilcox, Facilities Manager Email Rick joined the staff as Facilities Manager in February 2009. He and his wife, Shyla, have lived in Worthington and been members of WPC for over 30 years. They have two married daughters. Rick enjoys traveling and do-it-yourself projects.
Karen Linden, Program Assistant Email Karen has served as the Program Assistant since April 1999 and is responsible for supporting the Christian Education Director, the Youth Director, and the Music Director. In addition, she supports Session and publishes Tower Tidings and membership. Karen and Randy have two grown children; Eric is a stuntman and lives in Los Angeles; Alicia is a Registered Nurse working at OSU James Cancer Hospital.
Patty Wiechel, Food Service Manager Email Patty Wiechel joined the Worthington Presbyterian staff as a part-time Food Service Manager in August 2007. Born and reared in Newark, Ohio, Patty is a graduate of Newark High School. She holds a nursing degree from Central Ohio Technical College. Patty and John, her husband of over 30 years, have three children. Nathan and Matt are both married and live in the Grand Rapids, Michigan, area with their wives. Annie graduated from Purdue University, where she now works.
Susan Marvin, Administrative Assistant Email Susan Marvin joined our staff as Administrative Assistant in January 2009. Susan lives in Worthington with her husband, Brian. They have two children: Lex and Sophie. Susan and Brian have been members at WPC since 2000. They spend their free times outdoors - camping, fishing, gardening and swimming.
