Jonathan Hauerwas, Associate Pastor

In 2006, Jon received his first ordained call to ministry as an Associate Pastor at Worthington Presbyterian Church. Since that time, he has primarily served the mission and outreach aims of the church. In 2008, Jon saw an opportunity to serve the students at OSU, and he gladly accepted the new role of Presbyterian Campus Minister. Jon is a graduate of the University of South Carolina (2002). There, he was very active in the Presbyterian Student Association. Then, following college, Jon spent one year in Edinburgh, Scotland, serving a homeless hostel as a Young Adult Volunteer. The next year, he entered Princeton Theological Seminary. He received his Master's of Divinity from PTS in 2006. Jon enjoys playing golf and traveling. He and his wife, Kara, are expecting their first child.

Darlene Bitter, Preschool Director

Darlene Bitter has been the Preschool Director since June 2007. She has been working in the field of early childhood education for more than 25 years. A native of Cleveland, she moved to California in 1980 and graduated with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education from California State University, Fullerton. She and her husband Dennis, have two boys. They moved to the Westerville area in 2005.

Lynn Warner, Director of Christian Education

Lynn Warner, Director of Christian Education, has her roots in Long Island, New York, but grew up mostly in nearby Newark, Ohio, where her father was a Presbyterian minister. Lynn is a graduate of Grove City College in Western Pennsyvania and has served as Christian Educator in both a professional and volunteer capacity before coming to Worthington Presbyterian. She and her husband, Randy, are the proud parents of two daughters, Jodi and Jessica.

Mary Brake, Financial Assistant

Mary is the Financial Assistant at Worthington Presbyterian Church. She has been working in this capacity since September 1995. Any questions regarding contributions, account receivable or payable, budget, payroll or Endowment would be directed to her. Mary works closely with the Finance Committee and all staff members with regard to daily financial matters. Mary grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio where she worked as a legal secretary before moving to Columbus in 1972 when she married Bill. She attended the University of Cincinnati and Franklin University. Bill and Mary have three children, Laura 26, a RN at Riverside Hospital; Andy 25, an OSU graduate currently residing in Tampa, Florida and working for Enterprise Car Rental and Mike, a graduate of the University of Akron, who works for Worthington Industries.

Jan Elliott, Membership Assistant

Jan Elliott has served as Membership Assistant since January 2006. She and her husband, Bill, have three sons and two daughters-in law. Jan taught elementary school prior to raising their family. The Elliott family enjoys kayaking, biking and nature. Jan  also enjoys leading a weekly Bible study on OSU's campus through our WPC Campus Ministry program.

Patty Wiechel, Food Service Manager

Patty Wiechel joined the Worthington Presbyterian staff as a part-time Food Service Manager in August 2007. Born and reared in Newark, Ohio, Patty is a graduate of Newark High School. She holds a nursing degree from Central Ohio Technical College. Patty and John, her husband of 32 years, have three children. Nathan and Matt are both married and live in the Grand Rapids, Michigan, area with their wives. Annie attends Purdue University.
